Searing Gorge

The Searing Gorge is a blackened land of cinders and molten rock in the south of Khaz Modan. It owes its scars to the same catastrophe that burned the Burning Steppes: Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan’s summoning of Ragnaros, which ended the War of the Three Hammers. Today the Dark Iron dwarves dominate it, driving slaves to mine ore in the great rift of the Cauldron.

Not every Dark Iron serves the Firelord. The Thorium Brotherhood, master smiths who broke away from their clan, trade with outsiders from Thorium Point. Blackrock Mountain looms to the south, the Dark Iron empire in its depths and the spire above held by orcs and black dragons.
