Levels 53–60
The most ravaged corner of fallen Lordaeron, ruled by the Scourge from the burned city of Stratholme.
The Eastern Plaguelands are the most ravaged remnant of the kingdom of Lordaeron: brown, sick earth, trees swollen into giant fungi and air thick with orange mist. At their centre lies Stratholme, the city whose people Prince Arthas put to the sword in the Third War, now divided between the Scourge and the Scarlet Crusade.
The Crusade’s main army holds Tyr’s Hand and fights the undead with great zeal but little success, while the Argent Dawn welcomes anyone willing to help at Light’s Hope Chapel. Ghost towns such as Darrowshire and Corin’s Crossing mark lost battles, and Amani trolls strike from Zul’Mashar in the north to reclaim their ancient lands.
