Hinterlands

The Hinterlands are a rugged, forested upland in northern Lordaeron. After the War of the Three Hammers the Wildhammer dwarves abandoned cursed Grim Batol and settled here at Aerie Peak, where they tame the region’s wild gryphons and remain staunch allies of the Alliance. A few high elves still keep Quel’Danil Lodge.

The hills belong just as much to the forest trolls. The Revantusk tribe has sided with Thrall’s Horde, while the Vilebranch rule the great temple-city of Jintha’Alor and the Witherbark lurk around Shadra’Alor. In the north, the ancient tree Seradane holds a portal to the Emerald Dream, watched by green dragons.
