Lower Blackrock Spire

For centuries the spire crowning Blackrock Mountain was a Dark Iron stronghold. That ended when Nefarian, son of Deathwing, took its upper levels with his dragonspawn and turned on the dwarves. He found an ally in Rend Blackhand, an orc who calls himself Warchief of a Dark Horde that refuses to follow Thrall.

Lower Blackrock Spire is the barracks of that Dark Horde. Blackrock orc legions, Spirestone ogres under Highlord Omokk, Smolderthorn trolls of Shadow Hunter Vosh'gajin and the spiders around Mother Smolderweb share its ruined halls under Overlord Wyrmthalak. The elite and the dragons wait higher still, in the upper spire.
