Caves beneath the Barrens where the druid Naralex's dream of renewal turned into a nightmare.
The Wailing Caverns take their name from the moaning of wind and steam through cracks in the rock. The night elf druid Naralex found them and hoped to link their underground springs to the Emerald Dream, so that green life would spread across the dry Barrens once more. While he meditated, the Emerald Nightmare overwhelmed him instead.
Trapped in sleep, Naralex now pours that corruption into the caves. Their creatures have warped into deviate beasts, and most of his disciples went mad and became the Druids of the Fang, among them Lady Anacondra and Lords Cobrahn, Pythas and Serpentis. Waking Naralex means facing Mutanus the Devourer.
