Sacred caves of the centaur in Desolace, poisoned by the grief of the earth princess Theradras.
Legend tells a grim story of the centaur's birth. Their father was Zaetar, a son of the demigod Cenarius; their mother was Princess Theradras, daughter of the elemental lord of earth. The first centaur turned on Zaetar and killed him, and the grieving Theradras is said to have bound his spirit inside Maraudon, a deed whose corruption still poisons the caves.
The centaur clans hold Maraudon as holy burial ground, but restless centaur ghosts, twisted elementals and poisonous plant creatures now fill the Wicked Grotto, Foulspore Cavern and Earth Song Falls. Celebras, Zaetar's nephew, came to free his uncle's spirit and fell to the corruption himself. At the very bottom waits Theradras.
