Risen victims of the plague who broke free of the Lich King, the Forsaken rule the Undercity beneath Lordaeron's ruins and trust no one.
The Forsaken were once citizens of Lordaeron, slain by the plague and raised by the Scourge, who regained their free will when the Lich King's power faltered. Led by the banshee queen Sylvanas Windrunner, they claimed the ruins of Lordaeron's capital and made the Undercity beneath it their home. Their lands, Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine Forest, are contested by the Scourge and the Scarlet Crusade.
The Forsaken joined the Horde as allies of necessity; few of the living trust them, and the Royal Apothecary Society's secret work on a new plague gives their partners good reason. New Forsaken rise in Deathknell in Tirisfal Glades. Forever adds the Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon, where the Forsaken work to reclaim the shattered city above the Undercity, and it allows Forsaken paladins, a pairing the sources used here do not yet explain.
