Thousand Needles

Thousand Needles is a vast dry canyon of towering stone mesas in southern Kalimdor, reached from the Barrens by the Great Lift. The tauren of Freewind Post live on the mesa tops, while the Grimtotem, a tauren clan hostile to Cairne Bloodhoof, hold Darkcloud Pinnacle. Galak centaur roam the canyon floor and harpies nest among the needles.

In the east the canyon opens onto the Shimmering Flats, a blinding salt pan where goblin and gnome engineers race their machines at the Mirage Raceway.
