Rugged peaks west of the Barrens, sacred to night elves and tauren and scarred by goblin logging.
The Stonetalon Mountains rise west of the Barrens, the ancestral home of the harpies, though their flocks have since spread far beyond it. Stonetalon Peak, the tallest summit, is sacred to both night elves and tauren; the night elves keep a barrow and a glade near its top, the tauren hold Sun Rock Retreat in the central heights, and the Darkspear trolls camp at Malaka’jin.
The Venture Company has done the land the most harm: its goblins have stripped Windshear Crag of nearly every tree, choking the air with soot and fouling the water with oil. Grimtotem tauren, kobolds and the dangerous beasts of the Charred Vale make the roads no safer.
