Holy warriors born in the Second War, the paladins of the Silver Hand were broken by one of their own and now fight on under new banners.
Paladins are warrior-priests of the Holy Light. Archbishop Alonsus Faol founded their order, the Knights of the Silver Hand, during the Second War to give the Alliance champions who could heal as well as fight. Uther the Lightbringer was the first of them, and Turalyon, Tirion Fordring and Prince Arthas Menethil all took the oath.
The order was broken by one of its own. Arthas murdered Uther and helped destroy Lordaeron, and the Silver Hand’s survivors scattered: the fanatics of the Scarlet Crusade on one side, the Argent Dawn and the exiled Tirion on the other. Dwarves of Ironforge also carry the Light into battle. Forever’s most surprising change is that the Forsaken can now become paladins too, though the sources used here do not yet explain how the undead came to wield the Light.
