Priests serve the Holy Light, the moon goddess Elune or older and darker powers, healing allies and, when they must, unmaking foes.
Priests serve faith in many forms. The humans' Church of the Holy Light, centered on Stormwind's Cathedral of Light and once led by Archbishop Alonsus Faol, teaches that the Light lives in virtue rather than in any single god, and the dwarves embraced it too. The night elves' priestesses serve the moon goddess Elune in a sisterhood that Tyrande Whisperwind has led since the War of the Ancients.
Others walk darker paths. Forsaken priests keep a bleak faith of their own, troll priests honor the loa of their ancestors, and shadow magic is part of many priests’ craft. In Forever the gnomes, long known as an engineering people, can become priests for the first time, and Blizzard gave them racial priest spells of their own.
