A golden disc forged by Neltharion to master all dragons; it gave birth to Deathwing and, ages later, chained the red dragonflight to the Horde.
Before the War of the Ancients, the Earth-Warder Neltharion had his goblin servants craft a plain-looking golden disc, secretly steeped in the corruption of the Old Gods. He persuaded the other Aspects to pour part of their power into it to fight the Burning Legion, then turned it on demons and allies alike. The Dragon Soul’s energies tore at his body, and Neltharion became Deathwing.
After the Sundering, the Aspects hid the disc deep beneath what is now Redridge. Following Deathwing’s visions, the Dragonmaw clan recovered it, renamed it the Demon Soul and used it to enslave Alexstrasza at Grim Batol. It was finally shattered there, and the red dragons went free.
