Seal of Ascension

The upper halls of Blackrock Spire, where Rend Blackhand and the black dragonflight held court, were sealed against intruders. In the lower spire, a disguised stranger called Vaelan, in truth the red dragon Vaelastrasz sworn to hunt Nefarian, taught adventurers to make a key: an unadorned seal set with three gems taken from the Spire’s Smolderthorn, Spirestone and Bloodaxe commanders.

The seal then had to be forged in black dragonfire. Heroes travelled to the Wyrmbog in Dustwallow Marsh and bent the drake Emberstrife to breathe on it. The finished ring opened the upper citadel, and in the fight against Rend it could call a projection of Vaelastrasz to the heroes’ side.
